The Thompson Sports News

The Norman Northstars are once again in Thompson this weekend as they host the Central Plains Capitals.

The 22-15-2-1 Capitals are coming off a 2-0 loss to the Eastman Selects last Saturday, and currently have a three game losing streak.

Joey Moffat leads the Capitals up front with 28 goals and 32 assists for 60 points in 40 games. The 2001-born forward from Portage la Prairie was taken with the 201st pick (10th round) in last years’ WHL Bantam Draft by the Saskatoon Blades.

The 7-32-0-1 Northstars are coming off a split weekend against the Southwest Cougars, where they won on Saturday but lost the Sunday afternoon affair.

The Northstars and Capitals will take to the ice of the C.A. Nesbitt, as always, on Saturday night at 7:30 and Sunday afternoon at 1:30.

Tune in to 102.9 CHTM for the Saturday night game if you can’t be at the arena to support our Norman Northstars.
