The Thompson Sports News

The Wheat Kings were in action last night as they visited the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The Wheaties jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and took a 3-2 lead into the third period, but were unable to hold on for the W, falling 4-3 in the shootout.

Hurricanes Captain was the hero of the night, tying the game with his 36th goal of the season with around six minutes left in the third period.

Giorgio Estephan scored the only goal on either team in the shootout, giving his Hurricanes the win.

Tanner Kaspcik, Nolan Patrick and Reid Duke potted the goals for Brandon in the loss.

The next game for the Wheat Kings is Friday when they host the Edmonton Oil Kings.
