The Opaskwayak Cree Nation Chief and Council have decided to cease operations of the OCN Blizzard hockey team following the current season. The announcement came from chief and council on Tuesday. The future of the team is still in question as the remainder of the 2016-17 season exists. The OCN Blizzard Board of Directors is expected to be sending out a press release later today in response to the announcement. The Blizzard are 22-11-3 this season and are third in the MJHL. They're playing in their 21st season as part of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
