The Norman Northstars had a weekend to remember and forget when they managed to win once and lose twice. The Northstars started the weekend on a strong note when they beat the Eastman Selects 7-3 even though they were outshot 40-22. The Northstars followed that performance with an 18-0 drubbing to the hands of the Winnipeg Wild. The Northstars finished the weekend with a 7-2 loss to the Interlake Lightning.

The OCN Blizzard were home this weekend.  They held the Swan Valley Stampeders to a tight game on Saturday night. In the end though, the Stampeders took the win 3-2. The Blizzard are on the road this week. They’ll play the Wolverines in Waywayseecappo tomorrow night. OCN is in Dauphin on Wednesday, Virden on Friday and back in Wayway on Sunday.

The Flin Flon Bombers (15-7-2-2) stayed six points up on Nipawin for the Sherwood Division lead, winning their sixth straight game, 4-1 over Humboldt. Greyson Reitmeier followed up Thursday's hat trick with another goal and an assist, and now has 17 points in eight games in November.  Jason Lavallee, Tyler Nyman and Kristian St. Onge also scored and Zac Robidoux made 21 of 22 saves.

Connor Hellebuyck made 42 saves and Drew Stafford scored his first goal of the season Sunday afternoon as the Winnipeg Jets ended a five-game losing skid with a 3-0 victory over the Nashville Predators. Mark Scheifele and Adam Lowry added empty-net goals for the Jets. It was Hellebuyck's second shutout of the season and fourth of his career. The Predators had defeated Winnipeg 5-1 Friday in Nashville with Hellebuyck in net.

Former Wheat King Braylon Shmyr scored his second of the game with 42 seconds remaining to secure a 3-2 victory for the Saskatoon Blades over the Brandon Wheat Kings. Shmyr scored 12 seconds into the game to make it a 1-0 lead. Tyler Coulter and Schael Higson scored for the Wheat Kings and Logan Thompson stopped 25 of 28 shots for the loss. The Wheat Kings outshot the Blades 33 to 28.
