The OCN Blizzard went 1 and 1 in Neepawa on the weekend. The Natives had a 4-2 win last night after losing to the Blizzard 3-1 on Saturday. The 3 game road trip started with OCN blanking the Pistons 3-0 in Steinbach on Friday. OCN has this week to get ready for a home game against Swan Valley on Saturday.

The Norman Northstars fell back to earth this weekend when they took on the Winnipeg Thrashers. Coming off three wins in four games, the Northstars lost both games to the Thrashers 11-1 and 9-0. With the losses, Norman falls to 3-16-0-1 on the year with seven points, five points back of Interlake.

The Norman Wild played two close games this weekend against the Central Plains Capitals. The Friday game was a close 2-1 loss that came down to the final seconds. Saturday's game was a victory for the Wild as the Kali Cummings scored three goals and had two assists in a 5-3 victory. The Wild had to stave off a late comeback to secure the victory.

The Flin Flon Bombers had a perfect weekend road trip as they played three games in three nights and won all of them. It started with a 4-3 win over Nipawin on Friday which got them tied for first in the Sherwood Division. They then beat Humboldt 5-2 on Saturday and completed the weekend with a 4-0 win over Melville. The Bombers lead the division by four points.

The Winnipeg Jets have not enjoyed their road trip so far, as they lost both games over the weekend.  The Jets scored a total of two goals in the back to back games to lose to Boston 4-1 on Saturday and Carolina 3-1 on Sunday. The Jets who were riding high a week ago have now dropped below .500 but still sit third in the Central Division.

The Brandon Wheat Kings offense continued their dominance with big wins over the Saskatoon Blades this weekend. With both games in Brandon, the Wheat Kings lit up the Blades net with a big 8-1 win on Friday and a 6-3 win on Saturday. The Wheaties are one of the hottest teams in the league with five straight victories.
