For just the second time in 16 years, the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League final will not feature a team from Winnipeg.

Regular season champions Winnipeg Wild were swept in the semi finals by the Pembina Valley Hawks.

The Brandon Wheat Kings took four games to get by the Winnipeg Thrashers.

The best of five league final starts today in Brandon.

The winner will go on to the Telus Regional Cup in Dauphin in early April.
