Escape Rooms, Slime Making Part Of Exciting January Calendar For Library

There won’t be a shortage of activities this month at the Thompson Public Library.

Cheryl Davies, from the Library, joined 102.9 CHTM morning host Chris Walker earlier this week, and gave listeners a sneak peak of what’s coming up this month.

Davies highlighted a special “Winnie the Pooh” story time on January 18th, “Frozen”-themed sensory bottle making on the 23rd and winter slime making on the 30th.

She also spoke about what the Thompson Public Library has planned for Family Literacy Day, which is taking place on January 26th. In addition to having a table set up with books to give away at the City Centre Mall, Davies said that the Library will be hosting two different escape rooms as well as board games.

Davies said that the rooms (and games) are fitting for Family Literacy Day, as the day isn’t just about books. She said it’s also about thinking, and doing, and reading for instructions.

The two escape rooms will start at 2:00pm, and each room is expected to take around 40 minutes to complete. The event is completely free of charge, and everything is family-friendly.

Davies said that those wanting to take part in the escape rooms should register in advance, though walk-ins would be welcome. She did add, however, that if you don’t register in advance you might have to wait in line a little bit and show a little bit of patience.
