The Thompson Local News

The Salvation Army here in Thompson is looking for people to help with their Christmas Kettle Campaign.

Kettle co-ordinator Cheryl Harnum spoke to 102.9 CHTM, and said that shifts are two hours long. She said that there are four kettle locations; Safeway, Walmart, the Liquor Mart and Shoppers. The kettles are out every Thursday through Saturday.

She also said there’s an added bonus if you do three shifts; a voucher from KFC for a free two-piece meal.

100% of the money raised by the kettles stays in Thompson, and goes towards supporting the work of the food bank.

You can volunteer by calling Cheryl at 204-307-0709.

Are you concerned about forest fires in our area?
Yes. It's so dry and we're surrounded by trees.
Not really. One good rain and we'll be fine.
