CREA Puts Thompson as Lowest Selling Ratio in Country

According to the Canadian Real Estate Association, the region of Thompson has the country’s lowest selling ratio in any local housing market.

The ratio, expressed as a percentage, is calculated by dividing the number of sales in a given month by the number of listings that appeared on the market during that same period.

Thompson comes out at 12.5%, by far the lowest in the country.

Mayor Dennis Fenske says the market is responding on the uncertainty of Vale after 2018.

He says that the city has been through this type of housing market before and it seems to depend on the state of Vale.

9 of the 10 lowest sales-to-new listings were in a single region according to CREA. That region was the prairies which account for Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
