Mp's Dropping in For Class

Canadian Members of Parliament are getting the chance to sit with children and hear the issues that matter most to them.

MP for Churchill-Keewatinook Aski Niki Ashton got the opportunity to spend a day at R.D. Parker Collegiate to talk to students.

She said that the students were very interested in parliament talking about federal and international issues.

Ashton said when she visited the high school; it was a day after Donald Trump was elected President in the Unites States which brought forward a lot of questions and concerns.

She says that even though the students can't vote yet, it's important to hear what they have to say, adding that the Northern Manitoba region is one of the youngest in the country.

Over the past weeks, 62 MPs visited more than 100 schools across the country to speak to their youngest constituents.
