The Water Treatment Plant proposed rates have gotten some backlash on its 25% of the total cost which would come from rate per unit frontage.
The first 75% of the costs will come from consumption from properties, but as Mayor Dennis Fenske explains, the remaining 25% of the cost helps the city stay on budget.
Fenske says that consumption will fluctuate from year to year, but the 25% will be a set price.
A Public consultation will take place on November 30th, before they pass the rates through a second and third reading. After the consultation it will be sent to the Public Utilities Board to be approved.
