Mayor Dennis Fenske wanted to clarify what number to contact for emergencies involving the RCMP.

Residents have been calling the RCMP's office number which is not used afterhours and will send the caller to voicemail. The number to use for emergencies is 204-677-6911, which will send to you to the Communications line in Winnipeg.

When you call the emergency line, you are asked to stay on the line even if you're put on hold. If you hang up and call again, you will be put at the back of the line.

The office number is not intended to be used for emergencies.
