The RD Parker Collegiate band and jazz ensembles have been chosen to participate in the Canadian Rocky Mountain Festival.

The Senior Symphonic Band and Senior Jazz Ensemble were selected based on their recorded audition, and were selected among a pool of applications from across Western Canada.

Instructor Kevin Lewis says he is proud of the group for making the high-caliber Festival and says past classes have accomplished a lot in traveling festivals. He notes that this is the fifth time going to Banff.

The Choral Ensembles will also be making the trip to take part in the Banff Music Retreats. The tentative schedule has the class leaving Thompson on April 19^th and returning on April 25^th. The Festival takes place on April 20^th to 23^rd 2017.
