Mayor Fenske has established this week as National Teen Driver Safety Week for the city of Thompson.

The week is dedicated to spreading awareness and seeking solutions to preventable teen deaths on the road. Young drivers are the most likely individuals to end up in accidents in Canada and have the most road-related injuries and fatalities.

Fenske says in statement that everyone has a role to play in creating change amongst their peers, in classrooms and their communities.

Motor Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among 16 to 25 year olds.
