Question Period Gone From Council Meetings

Question period is officially not part of City Council after it being at the end of each meeting.

After a review of the City Council meeting by-law, it was established that the question period wasn't even part of the by-law.

Deputy Mayor Kathy Valentino says that most cities only have one period to ask questions oppose to the two periods that the city had offered before.

The question period was meant to have participants ask any concerns about the meeting, but it started to expand to questions that weren't part of the agenda.

The inquiries period will still be part of the agenda for future meetings and will be near the beginning of the evening. The city does insist you call or e-mail questions at another time.
