Ground is being cleared for a Youth Crisis Centre in Thompson.

CEO of the NRHA, Helga Bryant tells us what’s planned for the new facility: "Well it would be child and adolescence. There will be some in-patient beds, some of this is already being provided by us, its not all new. There are youth and adolescence mental health services already being provided in the region, so they would just be all now co-located and brought together in this nice centre rather than out of fragmented spaces across the city".

Bryant says the $8 million building should take about a year to build. It will be located beside the new AFM facility.
