People heading out to Paint Lake this May long weekend won’t have water.

Tracy Elbourne with Manitoba Conservation explains why: "Unfortunately we're not going to have the water on for this weekend and local staff are working hard to bring the water systems up and running but there's still ice on the lake and its not uncommon that we have startup issues with water on the may long weekend, particularly  in the northern locations".

Elbourne reminds people that the may long weekend is Manitoba parks annual liquor free camping initiative.

This weekend they have almost triple the amount of reservations for Paint Lake compared to May long weekend last year.
