Thompsonites raised $6,450 over the weekend during the Defeat Depression 5km.

Organizer Ron Buchanan tells us how the run/walk went: "I think it went great, I’m really happy because we were very concerned about what was going to happen with the weather with the ice storm and the conditions of the sidewalk and the streets. We were able to move it on to the street with the RCMP escort, which made it possible for us to continue with the walk today".

Buchanan says 80 people came out and participated in the event.
