RD Parker students give up food for 30 hours

40 RD Parker students will be giving up food for 30 hours starting this afternoon.

Teacher Robin Foley tells us about the cause they’re participating in:

"30 hour famine is an activity that students all across Canada participate in. It’s where they fundraise money for world vision projects and stop eating for 30 hours, just to have a slight appreciation of what other people in Canada and across the world have to go through".

Students Offering Support, or S.O.S for short, is the group within the high school that’s hosting the event.

The students start fasing today at 1pm and will continue until 7pm tomorrow. So far the students have raised $1,200.
