Tetaskweyak Cree Nation held elections for their council last week.

Duke Beardy was elected as Chief with 312 votes. There were 7 people running for chief. Elected councillors were Norma Flett, Nathan Neckoway, Mary Flett, Elijah Dick, Alwyn Keeper, and Doreen Spence.

Around 700 people came out to vote, out of 1200 eligible voters.

First meeting of council will be on Monday.
