Thompson will be getting a new fire chief for a day, all thanks to fire prevention week!

Fire chiefs are asking students in grades 3 and 4 to draw an escape route from their home. The winning picture and artist will be spending the day with the Fire and Emergency Services seeing exactly what they do.

Fire prevention week is October 5th until the 11th. Deputy Fire Chief Rick Morris says it’s important that children know how to escape their home if a fire did start.

The pictures will be collected at the schools throughout fire prevention week.
