The Thompson RCMP are on the watch for speeders in school zones. Approximately so far they’ve written 20 tickets since the start of school; mostly in front of RD Parker. A number of warnings have also been issued.
The current focus is on education says Staff sergeant Kevin Lewis. Lewis says the RCMP want to give residents time to adjust to the speeds, but excess speed will always result in a ticket.
The school speed zones are in effect 24/7.
