Jason Sonser

Jason hails from the beautiful Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, to beg Lady Luck to be kind as he tries his hand at full-time radio announcing here in Thompson. He's worn a few hats in his radio career to date. He's been an intern in promotions for Blackburn Radio in Chatham-Kent (Ontario). He spent time in Corner Brook (Newfoundland) as a Swing Announcer with NewCap Radio and was a part-time Technical Producer for Rogers Radio Group in his hometown of Kitchener.
Jason holds two college diplomas - one in Print Journalism and one in Radio Broadcasting - and he's proud to say he is TWO COURSES SHY of earning his university degree. His favourite singers are Colbie Caillat and Taylor Swift, depending on his mood. The fastest way to his heart are pizza, blueberry or lemon pie, cheesecake and pecan tarts. The thing he misses most about home? Oktoberfest. His favourite dog is the Border Collie, and he loves listening to saxophone.

Maxwell Healey

What a start to my career! Coming straight out of Loyalist College in Belleville, ON, flying to Winnipeg and making the 8-hour drive from Winnipeg to Thompson, I am extremely excited to leave my comfort zone and learn the ropes when it comes to being in a small community. That's considering I’ve lived most of my life in my hometown of Ottawa, ON!

I am a big fan of all kinds of music as well as an animal lover, with the Siberian Husky being my favourite breed. My favourite band is Nickelback and I always enjoy watching a good movie, hanging out with friends, or jamming it out playing piano or saxophone. The one thing I need to work on is my diet because I tend to just eat Kraft Dinner, Cheetos or Mr. Noodle.

My favourite quote: “Others before myself”

Josh Cain

Originally coming to Thompson for the Morning Show in 2013, I have returned for the Mid-Day show on your radio, 102.9 CHTM!

My years in the Hub of the North from 2013-2015 taught me that "Home really is where the heart is."

Call it cheesy, but when your gut is telling you something, my advice is DO NOT IGNORE IT!

Your intuition can sometimes know things, you haven't yet come to understand.

So most popular question so far "Why did you come back?"

Well, I left to pursue another adventure, and I don't regret it! I learned a lot about myself, specifically that big city living was no longer my cup of tea.

I found my peace here in Thompson, as I believe many do. And you know.... not spending 3 hours in traffic on a daily basis just to get to work (Winnipeg) is pretty sweet!

Thompson is what you make of it... so I say... let's make it ROCK together!

I want to hear from you, if you have something you'd like to talk about! Send me an email, call me on the show, or just yell at me in the grocery store! Why not?!

So good being back home, keep your soul shinin',

- Josh Cain

Stuart Walter

Originally from Mississauga, Ontario, Stuart joined the CHTM team from Ottawa, where he graduated from the Algonquin College Radio Broadcasting Program.

Stuart isn't a total stranger to the north, as he spent a few months in 2016 doing the news at a radio station in Yellowknife, NWT.

Before moving to Thompson, Stuart had been the Executive Producer of Hockey for CKDJ 107.9 in Ottawa, an intern at Rogers Sportsnet 590 the Fan in Toronto, and the voice of the Kemptville 73's Jr "A" Hockey Club.

Previous to being the voice of the 73's, he spent time as the voice of three other CCHL teams; the Gloucester Jr "A" Rangers, the Nepean Jr "A" Raiders and the Ottawa Jr "A" Senators.

Stuart loves the Toronto Maple Leafs, hockey, sports, Batman movies, playing his cornet and his wife, Rebecca.
